I didn't come from finance. I came from the real world - serving tables, bartending, and chasing dreams that didn't pay the bills on time.
From the time I was 17, I was deep in hospitality. The kind of work where you're on your feet for ten hours, where your income swings wildly depending on whether it's a Tuesday in January or a Saturday in summer.
I wasn't buying anything extravagant. I was covering groceries, gas, the unexpected car repair. Life. And every month, the minimum payment felt like throwing pennies at a mountain.
